丁乙的创作领域包括绘画、雕塑、空间装置和建筑。从 80 年代后期开始，他将视觉符号“十”字以及变体的“X”作为结构和理性的代表，以及反映事物本质的图像表现的代名词。

丁乙的作品在全球不同机构和画廊广泛展出，包括上海当代艺术博物馆（2020）、美国旧金山现代艺术博物馆（2018-2019）；古根海姆博物馆（毕尔巴鄂／纽约，2017-2018）；德国柏林戴姆勒当代艺术（2017）；法国巴黎蓬皮杜艺术中心（2015）；北京尤伦斯当代艺术中心（2007）等。大型国际双年展包括第45 届威尼斯双年展（1993） 、第1 届亚太三年展（1993）、第1届横滨三年展（2001）、第6 届上海双年展（2006）、第7届釜山双年展（2016）。

近期在国内外多家机构举办个展，包括龙美术馆（重庆，2020；上海西岸馆，2015），Karsten Greve 画廊（巴黎/圣莫里茨， 2021；科隆，2020），广东美术馆（广州，2018），香格纳画廊（上海，2018；新加坡，2022），西安美术馆（西安，2017），泰勒画廊（伦敦，2017；纽约，2021），湖北美术馆（武汉，2016）等。

DING YI

Ding Yi (b. 1962) was born and currently resides in Shanghai. 
The practice of Ding Yi encompasses painting, sculpture, spatial installation and architecture. He works primarily with “+” and its variant “x” as formal visual signals, above and against the political and social allegories typical of painting in China. He chose this sign in the second half of the 80s as a synonym of structure, rationality and of a pictorial expressiveness that reflects the essence of things.

Ding Yi has exhibited extensively at various institutions and galleries, among many others, Power Station of Art (Shanghai, 2019); San Francisco MoMA (2018-2019); Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York/Bilbao, 2017-2018); Daimler Contemporary (Berlin, 2017); Centre Pompidou (Paris, 2015); Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (Beijing, 2007). His works has also been included in 45th Venice Biennale (1993), The First Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (1993), Yokohama 2001 International Triennale of Contemporary Art (2001), 6th Shanghai Biennale (2006), 6th Busan Biennale (2016).

He has recent solo exhibitions at Long Museum (Chongqing, 2020/ West Bund, Shanghai, 2015), alerie Karsten Greve (Paris& St.Moritz, 2021/Cologne, 2020), Guangdong Museum of Art (Guangzhou, 2018), ShanghART Gallery (Shanghai, 2018/ Singapore 2022), Xi’an Art Museum (Xi’an, 2017), Timothy Taylor Gallery (London, 2017/New York, 2021), Hubei Museum of Art (Wuhan, 2016).

1962년생으로 상하이에서 생활하고 있다.

정을의 창작분야는 회화, 조각, 공간장치, 건축으로 한다.80년대 후반부터 그는 구조와 이성의 대표이자 사물의 본질을 나타내는 이미지 표현의 대명사로 시각 기호인 '열(十)'자와 변체의 'X'를 꼽기 시작했다.

정을의 작품은 상하이 현대미술관(2020), 미국 샌프란시스코 현대미술관(2018~2019), 구겐하임박물관(빌바오/뉴욕, 2017~2018), 독일 베를린 다임러 현대미술관(2017), 프랑스 파리 퐁피두 미술센터(2015), 베이징 유렌스 현대미술센터(2007) 등 전 세계 다양한 기관과 갤러리에서 전시되고 있다.대형 국제비엔날레는 제45회 베니스비엔날레(1993), 제1회 아시아태평양비엔날레(1993), 제1회 요코하마비엔날레(2001), 제6회 상하이비엔날레(2006), 제7회 부산비엔날레(2016) 등이다.

최근에는 용미술관(충칭, 2020; 상하이 서안관, 2015), 카스텐그레이브(파리/생모리츠, 2021; 쾰른, 2020), 광둥미술관(광저우, 2018), 샹그너(상하이, 2018; 싱가포르, 2022), 시안미술관(시안, 2017), 테일러(런던, 2017; 뉴욕, 2021), 후베이미술관(우한, 2016) 등 국내외 여러 기관에서 열리고 있다.
